St.George Orthodox Church is a parish under the Southwest American Diocese of the Indian Malankara Orthodox Church. St.George Orthodox Church currently has about 105 families coming together to worship our Lord Jesus Christ in the rich & orthodox traditions put together by our fathers.
By the permission of the former diocesan metropolitan, His Grace Thomas Mar Makarios, name ST. GEORGE MALANKARA ORTHODOX CHURCH was adopted. In 1989 Rev.Fr.E.M.Philip was the first vicar of this parish. Rev. Fr. C. G. Thomas served as the Vicar of the Church from Sep 16th 1996 to May 31st 2012. Rev. Fr. Thampan Varghese served as Vicar from June 2012 to Jan 2019. Rev. Fr. John Kunnathusseril serves as vicar from Jan 2019.
In 1998 we purchased 2.26 Acres of land, and the new church was built and consecrated in 2006. In 2009 we also purchased the adjacent land to the church, making the total land area to 3.5 Acres. The house in the land was later renovated and is using as a parsonage. In 2015 we purchased 1.25 Acres of land adjacent to Church in a view to build parish hall.
Our Church foundation stone was laid by the late Catholicos, His Holiness Baselios Marthoma Mathews II in 1998 and consecrated by Catholicos, His Holiness Baselios Marthma Didymus I. with the presence of H.G.Mathews Mar Barnabas Metropolitan and H.G.Zacharia Mar Nicolovos (former Metropolitans of American Diocese).
